On Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at 10:00 am, in the presence of Assistant Professor Dr. Lazgin A. Jameel-President of the University of Zakho, Dr. Adnan M. Abdul Aziz-President of Duhok Polytechnic University, Dr. Dawod Atroshi-Representative of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, members of the parliament of Kurdistan region and Iraq, vice presidents of the university, deans of the faculties and colleges, representatives of political and governmental institutions, lecturers and students of the university, and media institutions, the Second International Conference on Advanced Science and Engineering was held at the hall of conferences at the Faculty of Humanities, under the supervision of IEEE-Iraqi Section.

At the beginning of the conference, the attendee stood a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs who sacrificed themselves for the sake of their land, with the anthem of Iraq and Kurdistan being played. Then the conference started with a speech by Assistant Professor Dr. Lazgin A. Jameel- President of the University of Zakho. In his speech, he warmly welcomed the guests from national and international communities and talked about the significance of holding such a conference.

After that, a speech was delivered by Dr. Adnan M. Abdul Aziz-President of Duhok Polytechnic University, in which he welcomed the guests and talked academically about the stages of working, organizing and implementing the conference for the second time. Likewise, he expressed his gratitude to the director and staff of the conference, and scholars and wished for further support in holding those types of scientific conferences.

Furthermore, a speech was delivered by Mr. Dawod Atroshi-Representitive of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in which he delivered the speech of the Minister of Higher Education and showed the support of the conference for organizing academic and scientific activities.

It is worth mentioning that the conference was organized in collaboration with the University of Zakho and Duhok Polytechnic University with the participation of (63) research papers from (16) countries in which will be held for three days in both universities. It is worth noting that (194) research papers were submitted to the Committee of Evaluation and only (63) were accepted.
